The hospital pharmacy is responsible for the procurement and distribution of drugs and medical disposables for the need of the hospital units, day-care hospital, outpatient clinics and diagnostic services.
The pharmacy also compounds drugs for specific topical use in patients with allergic dermatitis. It also provides hospital allergy outpatients with standardized substances for epicutaneous skin tesing and prick testing for allergens, thus reducing possible allergic reaction upon testing.
A drug dispensing project for individual patients on 24-hour therapy has been started in collaboration with the pharmacy services of the DHMH University Hospital in New Hampshire (USA), thus raising the standards of the quality of management and safety of hospital patients.
